Data Engineering

Delivering effective problem solving across various programmes including Python and SQL and developing a strong technical understanding of data manipulation, RDBMS concepts and working with large data sets to build ETL pipelines.

Foundations of Success

Training starts with a two week deep dive that covers critical business and technical skills that will prepare you for life as a consultant. 

We equip you with vital consulting skills for the world of business, covering business fundamentals, the art of communication, stakeholder mapping, how to give and recieve feedback, problem solving and presentation skills. 

We also provide additional mental health and wellbeing workshops to nurture our you into resilient, empathetic and psychologically safe individuals.

Social Enterprises

On your first day of foundations of success you'll meet your project sponsors from your social enterprises projects. A unique opportunity to continue the great work they are doing and gain some vital project skills. 

At the end of week one you'll present your current state presentations to key stakeholders, rounding week 2 off with your future state proposal. 

Your work with your social enterprises continues right through to the end of your technical training, where you'll have allocated time to implement your work. 

Technical Training

We cover all the technical tools, programmes and methodologies for your chosen career pathway that will help you to succeed on your client placement. 

Lesson plans are tailored and delivered in-house by our industry leading training team, who blend real-life consultancy experience with technical nuance, setting you up for the best start possible. 

Xander Base

After completing the academy training you'll join our flourishing base of consultants, working from our London office and from home. 

There will be a short transitional period between completing the academy and starting your client placement - this is so we can identify the perfect client opportunity to match your career goals. 

During that period you'll be continuing your development with additional capstone project work to further your learning and put your skills into practice. 

You will also have dedicated 1-2-1 workshops with our People Team, and plenty of time to prepare for your client interviews. 

Client Placement

Congratulations! You've secured your client placement. 

No two placements are the same for each consultant. You may work for one client for up to two years, or work for multiple clients on short term projects during that two-year period. 

Inbetween client placements you will return to our base to recuperate and recharge, so you're ready to go again. 

During your placement our dedicated People Team will be on hand to provide you with all the support you need.

We'll then invite you to our London office for an open day, which involves a face to face interview and a skills test.

Most Common Questions

Not at all. We welcome people from all backgrounds – some of our most successful consultants includes returners to work, career changers and working parents! We recognise that experience doesn’t just come from university and want to create a career pathway that is open to everyone. 

Our office is located in the City of London, right by the Gherkin in the business quarters! You can also make a pit-stop to Petticoat Lane where you can get some great food. Being in a central location enables us to have good transport links in and around the city, and for those who commute in.

We know the importance of a healthy work and life balance and the benefits of flexible working. However, what is right for some is not right for everyone. Whilst on base you are in the office two days a week, when is up to you. Working hours are 9am – 5:30pm, but we aim to be flexible around your individual needs and commitments. Once deployed, client needs may be different, but we strive to ensure it works for you and your requirements.

We review pay increases for all Consultants 12 months after completing the training academy. We review your client deployment rate and feedback gained from clients and internal projects. During your performance review you will have the opportunity to showcase your achievements and contributions.

Client placements can last anywhere from3 months to two years. It usually depends on the client requirements. However, short term placements can often lead to extensions because of good performance.

If you finish one client placement before your two years with Xander is finished, you will return to our base, where you’ll have the opportunity to upskill further and recharge whilst we find you a new placement.

No Consultant experience will be the same. You could work for multiple clients during your two years with us, or work for one client for the entire two years.

Our clients represent multiple industries and sectors across the UK. Global consultancies, tech institutions and financial services, you will get great exposure and wide experience.

Our focus from the word go is to get you working with one of our clients. We look to match you with a client that will enable you to excel in your chosen career. For some, this happens even before they’ve rolled off the academy – for others, it may take a little longer. However, the end goal is the same for all our Consultants; to ensure you have a great head start in your newly chosen career.

Once you are a Consultant, you are entitled to 20 days holiday in addition to bank holidays. Plus, we love a birthday, so you get that off too! We also have a sizeable referral fee – so send any referrals our way! We recognise that everyone has different needs, and we offer a flexible benefits option through Perkbox.
